Announcement

Biblical dramatist Norm Arrington of Princeton, WV, will present a monologue telling the story of Jesus’ cleansing the temple at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 18, at Freedom Gate Church. It is located 1.6 miles north of Marietta’s Exit 1 off I-77, on Route 7 toward Reno. The Church is on the left just past Pioneer car lot, at 104 Tennis Center Drive; 740-373-0867. Arrington will also dramatize a Bible story at regular worship, 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 19. Events are free and the public is invited. A love offering will be accepted.

Rev. Arrington is renowned for his drama ministry, having portrayed some 85 Bible characters. Saturday’s performance will be the world premiere about an imagined character, The Repentant Moneychanger, now the silversmith who witnessed Christ turning the tables on him, then changing his life in response to Jesus’ teaching, crucifixion and resurrection. Original songs composed for this event will be performed by local musicians.

Why was Christ so angry? Jesus’ outburst was NOT typical of him. As he overturned the moneychangers’ tables he quoted Isaiah and Jeremiah: “house of worship” or “den of thieves.” On Saturday, October 18, from 4 – 6 p.m., a moderated panel discussion with two area authors of books on Bible topics will suggest interpretations, just before the 7 p.m. dramatization. Pizza between events (from 6 to 7 p.m.) can be ordered at 4 p.m. for $5.

Come, hear this climactic story about Jesus - a compelling, entertaining and informative biblical drama!
